Rome’s contemporary art scene was given a shot in the arm in the 1990s with the opening of this municipal gallery in a converted brewery outside the walls west of Villa Borghese. This space will cover 10,000sq m (107,500sq ft), thanks to an extension designed by architect Odile Decq. As long as works continue, admission costs €1.
