Financial hurdles have meant works to transform this enormous former army barracks into the Museo delle arti del XXI secolo (MAXXI), to a striking design by Zaha Hadid, have been very stop-go. For the time being, it hosts occasional temporary shows. Free guided tours 5pm Sat and 11.30am Sun.
