Seasonal Seville

Spring is Seville’s manic season, with the religious fervour and sombre processions of Semana Santa (Holy Week, 10-16 April 2006) followed by the Feria de Abril, a fortnight of wassail, bullfighting, equestrian displays and dancing. Hotels tend to put their prices up at this time of year, so if you can, book early and haggle over the price. Between 12 September and 15 October 2006 visitors will be able to indulge in the XIV Bienal de flamenco, during which major theatres, small peñas (bar-restaurants) and schools host around 30 flamenco music concerts, dance events and guitar sessions. See www.bienal-flamenco.org for further details.
