Many arrive in Split for the resort islands of Hvar, Brac, Korcula and others. Most island hops require a ferry journey of a couple of hours and foot passenger fares are kept low, about 30kn for most nearby islands. Schedules are posted at www.jadrolinija.hr or call 666 111. If you’re making the four-and-a-half-hour journey by bus to Dubrovnik, remember to take your passport, as part of the journey takes in a small section of coast that belongs to Bosnia. Split now has a relatively fast inter-city train connection with Zagreb.
