Seasonal Stockholm

In the summer there’s outdoor theatre (Parkteatern, www.stadsteatern.stockholm.se, June-August), Midsummer festivities at Skansen (Fri and Sat closest to 24 June) and the Stockholm Jazz Festival (www.stockholmjazz.com, 1wk mid July). In the autumn, the city hosts the Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival (www.stockholmbeer.se, 3 days in Sept) and the Stockholm International Film Festival (www.filmfestivalen.se, mid Nov). Stockholm is cosiest in winter, with Christmas markets in Gamla Stan and Skansen, and candlelit choir music on Luciadagen (13 Dec). Spring is celebrated by lighting bonfires on Valborgsmässoafton (30 Apr).
