Shopping

Window shopping is best enjoyed under the porticoes of stylish via Roma, which is lined with inviting shops ranging from big global brand names to tenacious old family businesses. For wines from both Piedmont and further afield, go to Parola (corso Vittorio Emanuele II 76, 011 544 939, closed Sun); the shop will ship purchases abroad. Turin is home to Europe’s largest open-air market, known locally as Porta Palazzo (piazza della Repubblica, open Mon-Fri mornings and all day Sat), while the Balon flea market is held on Saturdays in and around Borgo Dora.
