Some eight miles south of Valencia, the Parc Natural de L’Albufera is a nature reserve of pine forest and freshwater lakes attracting a colourful range of migratory birds. From March to December, tourist buses leave Plaza de la Reina daily for these wetlands where you can take a boat trip on the lake (963 414 400, €12, Mon-Sat).
