Hotels

Given the dearth of hotels in downtown Zadar, the attraction of the lovely four-star apartment hotel Villa Hresc (Obala kneza Trpimira 28, 023 337 570, www.villa-hresc.hr, €86-€107) near the city centre is obvious. Nearly all hotels are 4km (2.5 miles) out of town, at Puntamika, in a tourist complex called Borik. Its somewhat dated has been transformed by the Tyrol-based group Falkensteiner (www.falkensteiner.com), which owns a cluster of seaside venues at Majstora Radovana 7: the newly-built four-star Hotel Adriana Select (023 206 636, €118-€272, open Apr-Oct); the spa hotel Funimation (023 206 100, €84-€212) and the standard Hotel Donat (023 206 637, €70-€175, open Apr-Oct).
