Everybody Dies but Me
Time Out says
Thu Apr 23 2009In this bittersweet little pill of a film, three teenage girls get off on first love, last rites, and playground sex in a working class Moscow suburb – ‘Mean Girls’ this is not. Germanika stays true to her docu roots, using refreshingly unscripted dialogue and long, rough-edged takes to capture the real-life growing pains of the precocious heroines. Newcomer Filonenko’s electric performance, acutely observed and packing a pint-sized punch, leaves her teen counterparts in the dust.
