Time Out says
Sharp-witted young actors, especially those willing to come off as supreme assholes, are rare gems. So it's thrilling to see Topher Grace, having established a bland but profitable home on That '70s Show, return to the acrid wit that singed his scenes in Traffic. Here, he's a superconfident New York art-school applicant—and before we even see those devilish eyebrows, he's effortlessly turning the tables on Laura Linney's blinking admissions officer, cooing subtly inappropriate come-ons over the phone. Sadly for us, the affair turns sappy; Dylan Kidd's follow-up to his vitriolic debut, Roger Dodger, isn't quite a sophomore slump—maybe just a slouch—but it's still a disappointment.Author: JR
