Time Out says

Dogs left by summer vacationers gang together, run wild, and terrorise an out-of-season island resort. Somewhere inside The Pack a modestly good movie struggles to find expression. But Robert Clouse's script (from Dave Fisher's novel) is almost indecently hasty in turning the characters into dog food, and his direction is monotonously relentless in its pursuit of the requisite thrills. Occasional set pieces work - a woman trapped in a car, for instance - but little is done to string them together. It's a pity that Joe Don Baker's strangely reticent hero isn't allowed greater dimension, and that stalwarts like Shull and Armstrong are given so little to do.
