Time Out says

Who would you choose to take along on a pioneering Egyptian tomb excavation? Chances are, it wouldn’t be a guy who looks like Indiana Jones’s bookish, bad-tempered uncle, the year’s most hapless screen blonde and the mouthy one from ‘The Inbetweeners’. Yet here they are, getting into all manner of scrapes inside a millennia-old structure buried deep in that part of the Sahara desert that looks suspiciously like California. But as crotchety Professor Holden (Denis O’Hare), his plucky but ineffectual daughter (Ashley Hinshaw) and chippy British documentary cameraman Fitzy (James Buckley) wander ever deeper into this stone labyrinth, they realise that (gasp!) they’re not alone…

This enjoyable-despite-itself horror flick has precisely nothing new to offer – with the arguable exception of a monster in a miniskirt, which may be a first – and it looks cheap and cheesy. But with a fistful of effective scares and a great line in bluntly hilarious dialogue (‘I’m sick of running!’ yells Buckley, having walked or crawled through the entire movie so far), it’s perfectly watchable.
