Floating on a concrete pad at the far edge of Coal Harbour, this sleek waterfront restaurant with vanishing glass walls offers a million-dollar view of the mountains. Make that $8 million, which is what Lift cost to build. If only the owners had invested in a kitchen large enough to accommodate the well-heeled crowds the room attracts. Without reservations, be prepared for a lengthy wait. Food service is none too swift either. The lunch menu is a simple enough affair if you fancy a smart stop to eat your burger or fish and chips after walking the Seawall. At dinner you might do best to stick to the simple pleasure of sipping drinks and nibbling sushi next to the fire pit on the upper deck.
