Cioppino's is the place where expense accounts go to die. Pino Posteraro's prices are on the steep side, but still comparable to other upscale Italian joints in the area and by far the best of the bunch. Indeed, the owner's deceptively simple pastas, pan-seared fish and hearty grilled meats make it one of the top fine-dining restaurants in the city and a favourite of visiting celebrities. Where else are they going to find 1959 Dom Perignon for $3,288 a pop? If your budget won't stretch, consider the Enoteca at lunch: a smart bowl of pasta or free-range roast chicken can be had for around $20.
