Vancouver East Cultural Centre review Rate it
No venue in the city has the committed audience that the 'Cultch' has cultivated. The former Unitarian church, built in 1909, has been a 250-seat theatre, dance and music venue since 1973. The place was saved from financial ruin in the '90s and now Heather Redfern programmes an ambitious collection of touring shows and top-of-the-line independent work. Renovations, which will see the opening of a new 100-seat studio in 2008, continue until 2010.
