Al Remer guarantees you a warm welcome - not always matched by good service. It's a cosy little bacaro, with good renditions of the usual cicheti. The traditional Venetian meal fare is nothing to write home about, and is expensive unless you opt for the lunchtime special. But what makes Al Remer unique (if you ever get there, because it's a devil to find) is its exquisite setting in a tiny square right on the Grand Canal. With drink in hand, there can be few finer places to soak in the glories of that waterway.
