Sant'Elena is surely the only place in Venice you'll find more residents, trees and grassy expanses than tourists, churches and galleries. Grab a seat - and a drink - outside this bar and join the locals gazing lazily across the lagoon at passing boats or keeping a watchful eye on their bambini as they play in the park. The bar's ice-cream is made on the premises.
