Can too much interior design be a bad thing? The growing army of regular customers at Divas certainly doesn't think so. The place carries the name of a fashion boutique that long occupied the same address, and it's still all about fabrics and colours here, darling. The front room features a bed jutting out diagonally across the main space with vintage magazines ranged artfully across the wall behind it. A back room consists of wicker garden chairs surrounded by potted Mediterranean plants, and a glass-enclosed smokers' area that looks part granny's parlour, part lounge bar. It's not just about the fancy makeover: the coffee is strong enough to merit repeat visits and there's usually a couple of cheesecake-type offerings screaming 'eat me! eat me!' from the cabinet below the bar. Street-side seating on a wooden deck makes Divas a mellow choice for a summer evening's drinking, with Velebitsko beer (13kn), Somersby pear cider (20kn) and a choice of rakijas (14kn) offering liquid encouragement.
