Gjuro II - © Matt Field/Time Out
There's something welcomingly lived-in about the rather worn and tatty Gjuro II (there is not a Gjuro I, just so you know), a cult Zagreb location that somehow succeeds in staying popular from one generation to the next. The narrow passageways on either side of the oblong bar ensure that you'll bump and squeeze your way past fellow patrons on you way to the dancefloor at the back of the club. DJs fill the place with house and R'n'B on Wednesdays, retro-disco on Fridays, and House music on Saturdays; while Tuesdays is traditionally the night for arty thirtysomethings to frug away to an eclectic glam-punk-rock-disco mix. Drink prices (bottled Beck's, Stella and Corona) are on the reasonable side. The admission charge is generally around 20kn, and free on Tuesdays.
Open 10pm-4am Tue, Wed, Fri, Sat; 9pm-1am Thur
