Travel information: getting to Zagreb

The Croatian national carrier and budget firm Wizzair link Zagreb directly with London – otherwise, the city is on the major European train network.

Getting to Zagreb by air

Zagreb’s Pleso airport is 17km (ten miles) south-east of the city. Airport buses (01 63 31 999, www.plesoprijevoz.hr; 30mins journey time; 30kn) run to the main bus station every half-hour 7am-8pm daily, then after each flight. To the airport, buses run every half-hour, 4.30am-9am Mon, Tues, Weds, Fri (from 5am Thur, Sat, Sun) and then 10am, when it resumes the every-half-hour schedule until 8pm. A taxi should cost 200kn.

Getting to Zagreb by rail

There is a regular service from Budapest and Vienna to Zagreb's main station, Glavni kolodvor. From the station, it's a 15-minute walk to the main square, or take tram 6 or 13.
