Kerempuh has a reputation for being an informal neighbourhood restaurant which also cultivates foodie culture. It has served as something of a proving ground for culinary celebrities in recent years, with both TV chef Ana Ugarković and rising star Dino Galvagno (currently head chef at Prasac, see below) doing stints in the kitchen. Ingredients are gathered round the Dolac market first thing in the morning for the daily changing menu, which is chalked up on the blackboard outside. Traditional central-Croatian dishes like buncek (leg of ham) and lungić (pork loin chop) form the backbone of the regular menu, although there are always a couple of attractive vegetarian options among the reasonably priced meaty ones.

I went there with high expectaqions on a Tuesday and it was quiet, Already there were 4 Germans chatting away ( I speak german, it was most enlightening); a local couple and a single gent. The Slovania sausage was nice with red wine, the Sea Bass was cooked well. My meal wasnt anything a Chef could embelish and so I am unable to tell more. I was looking forward to the local Strukli but it was "not available"...shame. The view could be great in the daylight. The price was reasonable and its worth a visit. However as I love River Cafe and Fat Duck...I was wanting much more..but I didnt receive it.
