Following a thorough refit in 2011, Tvornica kulture ('The Culture Factory') has lost no time in reestablishing itself as Zagreb's leading medium-sized venue for live rock and pop. The fashionably black, 1,800-capacity main hall has been augmented by a more intimate small hall for local bands and disc-spinning after-parties. It also works as a café by day. Increased bar space ensures that you can now get a mid-gig drink without dying of thirst in the process, and there's a pizza stand and a T-shirt stall in the foyer too. Butthe re-born Tvornica's greatest asset has been the arrival of legendary promoter Mate _kugor as artistic director. With an instinct for picking the best up-and-coming alternative names and established indie stalwarts, _kugor booked bands at the KSET before being poached by the Tvornica - and wherever _kugor goes, the Zagreb crowd follows. Concerts take place during the week, with DJs and visuals at weekends. Ticket prices range from 35kn to 150kn.
