One of Australia's oldest and most respected arts festivals, Adelaide Festival presents a curated program of the biggest names in international and Australian theatre, dance, music, opera and visual arts.
Highlights of this year's program are a solo concert by pop-punk diva Grace Jones on the riverbank (Wed Feb 28), the Australian premiere of Brett Dean's opera Hamlet (March 2 to 6) and a banger of a live music program on board the floating Riverbank Palais Festival club, as well as free literary festival Adelaide Writers' Week (March 3-8).
Festival goers of the foodie persuasion are advised to book in for one of the long lunches on the Palais (March 4-18) and those hoping to inspire any budding artists have the Kid's Weekend (March 3-4) with Mem Fox and Jackie French to look forward to.
