Fortnightly films in the basement at Format:
(WE HAVE PUSHED THE EVENT FORWARD TO THE MONDAY (yes it clashes with Mercury (sorry) - ALL THE REST IN THE PROGRAM WILL STILL BE ON THE TUESDAY)

Stuart Maxted, the 2016 writer-in-residence @ Format has been invited to select two films, as well as speak about them.

"They are probably my favourite movies, and conveniently deal with the transposition of painting into cinema. The great poet, film director and all-round curious character Pasolini studied under the great art historian Roberto Longhi and so his films are littered with allusions to Bruegel, Giotto and the Italian Mannerists. Hockney, too, loves playing the voyeur behind Alberti's window which, of course, is so characteristic of European gay art cinema of the 70's."
