The Edinburgh Castle Hotel says
Songs about love and loss, courage and family, life and death. Soaring voices set to a musical backdrop brimming with honesty and passion. Food, fire, friends and folklore.

Shining a light on Adelaide’s burgeoning Alt-Country & Americana music scene, “Southern Twang” is a free event bringing the sounds of the American Midwest to Adelaide’s oldest pub, The Edinburgh Castle Hotel, this July 15.

Adelaide’s country/soul luminaries Max Savage and the False Idols will be re-united from across Bass Strait to headline the event, and will be joined by the cream of a thriving Adelaide scene; the layered Americana of The Heggarties, the haunting folk of Alana Jagt, the blue collar alt-country of The Best Extra's, the authentic Australian country rock of The Bitter Darlings, the harmony-laden country-folk of Häna Brenecki & Mark Curtis, and the stylings of Adelaide's most diverse troubador, David Blumberg.

With the historic Ed Castle (which celebrated its 180th birthday this month) dressed to capture the essence of the music, free entry for all, a special Midwestern BBQ menu catered for the day, roaring fires to ward off the winter chill, and a wealth of extraordinary South Australian talent, “Southern Twang” is set to bring a special kind of warmth to July 15.

Presented by Umbrella Winter City Sounds, Coopers and Slack Sabbath.
