Time Out says

Please join us for our eighth annual Black History Month Celebration as we recognize outstanding African Americans who have made great contributions to medicine. We are honoring Otis W. Brawley, MD, FACP, the Chief Medical Officer for the American Cancer Society. Dr. Brawley will be speaking at the luncheon. To be honored posthumously: Roderick Badger and Charles R. Drew. Publisher Carolyn Jernigan Glenn will serve as Mistress of Ceremonies for the event. The celebration will take place at the historic DeKalb County Courthouse in Decatur on Tuesday, February 10. The annual event begins at 11:30 a.m. and includes a seated luncheon by Zest Atlanta. Tickets are required and seating is limited. The cost is $30 for members and $35 for non-members and sponsorships are still available. This photo shows last year's honorees from left to right: Karyn Greer, Jennifer Ffrench-Parker, Steen Miles, Valerie J. Morgan, and Joyce Godfrey for her daughter, Rashsan Ali. Carolyn Glenn, co-publisher of The Champion, is on the far right.
