Auditions: The Motown Sound

We are looking for singers, dancers, and double-threats to perform in the 5th annual Motown music revue at the Earl Smith Strand Theatre in Marietta, GA. Time: Group dance audition begins promptly at 11 a.m. with individual vocal auditions following in order of initial arrival. When planning your arrival time, keep in mind there is a busy farmers’ market on the Marietta Square from 9 a.m.- 1 p.m. Requirements: Ages 16+. Headshot and resume. Participation in both the dance and vocal auditions is required. For the dance audition, wear clothing and shoes that you can move comfortably in and is form fitting. For the vocal audition, prepare a 30 second accompaniment cut of a Motown song that best shows off your voice; accompaniment cd or mp3 on device acceptable. No a capella vocal auditions. Rehearsal Schedule: Saturday, June 13 (9 a.m.-5 p.m.); Monday-Thursday, June 15-18 (6 p.m.-10 p.m.); Saturday, June 20 (9 a.m.-5 p.m.); Monday-Thursday, June 22-25 (6 p.m.-10 p.m.); Saturday, June 27 (9 a.m.-5 p.m.); TECH WEEK- Monday- Thursday, June 29-July 2 (6 p.m.-TBD) Show Schedule: July 3- 26, Fridays/Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. The Strand reserves the right to schedule additional shows on those days if necessary.
