I will be leading this tour on July 16 and again on July 22, which is the actual anniversary of the Battle. This is going to be a very unique and interesting expedition. Please try to make one of them.

This 10-mile tour (you can do all or part of it) is based on a history project that was developed by the Emory University Libraries & Information Technology Department. As originally designed, the Emory tour combines a narrative of events, maps, video clips and images into a handheld resource directing visitors to 12 tour stops. By car, the tour takes about three hours. I have modified the route to make it more walkable.

The end result is a 10-stop tour that should take about 6-7 hours. This includes a 45-minute lunch stop at Argosy in East Atlanta Village. It also allows us to spend 15-20 minutes at each stop to talk about and reflect on the historical significance of that location. The walking portion is 7-8 miles. You can do all or part of the tour. Please review this interactive map and the detailed Itinerary that appears below carefully.

NOTE: Our modified tour begins at Stop 2 on the Emory Tour (Oakland Cemetery). So as not to further confuse matters, our stops are labeled A, B, C, etc. So, our Stop B is Stop 1 on the Emory tour.
