Time Out says
In yogic tradition, the breath is seen as the outward manifestation of prana, or vital energy. Gaining control of the breath by practicing breathing exercises – pranayama – increases the flow of prana through the body, thereby inviting greater mental clarity, heightened healing potential and deeper self-understanding. Pranayama, like other yogic practices, is about being more fully alive and well, and is a particularly helpful in the preparation for meditation.
This workshop will provide instruction and practice of pranayama techniques that you can integrate into your current practice.
Workshop Topics Include:
Basics of the yogic philosophy behind pranayama
Integrate breath with yoga practice
Anatomical structures involved in yogic breathing
Benefits of pranayama on the nervous system
Introduction and practice of various pranayama techniques
Systematic take home practice
Cost: $50
This workshop is open to the public. Students enrolled in Active Sol's Yoga Alliance Teacher Training program will receive 4 credit hours towards certification.
