Celebrate 20 Years Of History! says
What better way to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Marietta Museum of History opening to the public than on Smithsonian Museum Day! The Marietta Museum of History officially opened its doors to the public in 1996 and now it is time to celebrate how far we have come in 20 years! Saturday, September 24, 2016 from 11am till 2pm the MMH will serve a variety of cakes, cookies and other birthday desserts and goodies donated by local restaurants, bakeries and caterers.

As part of the celebration and Smithonian Museum Day the MMH will be giving FREE admission to tour the galleries from 10am to 4pm! The Museum contains the largest collection of artifacts relating to Marietta and Cobb County’s rich history. Galleries and exhibits cover topics such as military history, home life throughout the decades, and technology from our past. Current exhibits include Shoppin’ Southern Style: Fashions from the mid 20th century and BOOM! Toys of the Baby Boomer Generation.
