Atlanta History Center says
Doug Tallamy presents practical recommendations for how virtually everyone with access to a patch of earth can make a significant contribution toward sustaining biodiversity. Chairman of the Department of Entomology and Wildlife Ecology at the University of Delaware, Tallamy will discuss the unbreakable link between native plant species and wildlife. Native insects cannot and will not eat alien plants. When native plants disappear, insects disappear, impoverishing the food source for birds and other wildlife. He will share how everyone can promote wildlife and biodiversity in their own backyards by using native plants. Awarded the 2008 silver medal by the Garden Writers Association, Bringing Nature Home has sparked a national conversation about the link between healthy ecosystems and human well-being.

Tickets are $25. Reservations are required. For more information, please call 404.814.4150.
