Restorative Yoga is a blissful style that may benefit all practitioners, creating balance in their asana practice. It uses props such as blankets, pillows and bolsters to support the body in restful poses that are held for longer periods of time. It is particularly beneficial to those who are coping with physical or emotional trauma.

This three-hour exploration of restorative yoga will be a deep restorative session that will leave you feeling spiritually rejuvenated and physically relaxed and open. Aspiring teachers will leave with the knowledge of how to lead their students into at least 5 restorative poses for use at the end of a regular asana practice or a class devoted to restorative. In addition, you will learn the principles and philosophy behind restorative yoga to enhance your enjoyment of, and benefits from, the practice. Both Devaki and Surya Devi successfully completed the Relax & Renew© certification training with Judith Lasater. Ms. Lasater was a student of B.K.S. Iyengar and her restorative yoga techniques spring from that lineage of yoga.
