WHAT IT’S ABOUT:
"Family occasions are so rare."

A man and his parents meet for an unusual family reunion one night in their family home. Except that they may not be his parents and it may not be his family home. Oh, and they might be dead. There’s a large scorpion on the roof. And it gets stranger. Stark and minimalistic, the avant-garde novel PLAYDATE by Athens, Georgia author Mark Katzman, toys with taboos in a whirlwind of existential confusion that raises questions about what it means to belong.

"Mark Katzman’s weird and wonderful PLAYDATE looks like a poem and reads like a novel. Fast, ever so fast and on point, it hurtles you through its dizzying narrative and leaves you gasping for breath. What a book. Once you start, it’s impossible to stop reading.”
-–Paul Auster
