Medu Bookstore "Cashmob" Celebration

The content on this page is provided by a Time Out partner.

After the closing of a certain bookstore chain in the Camp Creek Marketplace, we decided to shine a light on a gem of Greenbriar Mall that has been a cornerstone of literacy in our community for decades. The purpose of this "Cash Mob" is to generate funding for Medu Bookstore as a show of appreciation for over 20 years of service to the Southwest Atlanta community. The "Cash Mob" works like this: we are asking everyone to come out on one day (February 28th) and simply spend a minimum of $20 with Medu Bookstore that day. That's it! If they do not have a book you want in store, they can have any book ordered for you. This is an opportunity for us to give back to a black owned business that has given us so much over the years. ***ATTENTION MAYS AND DOUGLASS HIGH SCHOOL ALUMNI AND STUDENTS*** A PORTION OF THE PROCEEDS FROM THE BOOK SALES WILL GO TOWARDS THE SANKOFA SCHOLARSHIP WHICH GIVES A $1000 SCHOLARSHIP TO A GRADUATING SENIOR FROM EACH SCHOOL! PLEASE PASS THIS INFORMATION TO EVERY ALUM, GROUP AND CLASS THAT YOU KNOW. MORE INFO TO COME!!!
