Public Safety Citizen's Academy says
The Alpharetta Department of Public Safety would like to invite the Residents and Business Owners of Alpharetta to attend the Public Safety Citizens' Academy. This free program is designed to introduce members of the public to various functions of the public safety profession.

We are now accepting applications. The Academy will begin on Thursday, January 28, 2016. Classes will be held every Thursday from 6:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. and a few Saturday classes from 8:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Academy classes will be held at the Roswell / Alpharetta Public Safety Training Center (RAPSTC) located at 11565 Maxwell Road, Alpharetta, Ga. 30009. The 15 classes will run for 15 weeks with a special graduation dinner at the end of the program. Each student will have the opportunity to conduct a ride along with both police and fire personnel.

Some of the classroom and hands on topics covered are:
• Criminal Investigations Division
• 9-1-1 Center
• Structural Fire Control
• Hazardous Materials
• Gun Safety
• Jaws of Life and many more exciting hands on topics
