Rise Up says
Join us on Saturday, May 2nd, as we mourn the loss and honor the legacy of black lives in our community here in Georgia.

The day will begin with a processional from Rise Up's office in Atlanta's West End, at 1292 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd SW, Atlanta, GA 30310. Participants are asked to drive or bike to the office at 11:00am, so that the processional may leave at noon.

The processional, which will contain visual and musical elements, will make its way 8 miles through Downtown, en route to Oakhurst Baptist Church, at 222 East Lake Dr, Decatur GA, 30030, where a memorial service will be held.

The service will begin at 1:00pm, and include songs, altar placement, a non-denominational eulogy, and words from loved ones of those tragically lost, including Bridget Anderson, girlfriend of Anthony Hill, Delisa Davis, sister of Kevin Davis, Marcus Coleman, founder of Save Our Selves/spokesman for the family of Kendrick Johnson, and others. Members of many community activist and faith groups from around Metro Atlanta will be in attendance.

At the conclusion of the service, we will host an open community meal, at Oakhurst Baptist, including outreach and a call to action for opportunities to get involved in activism for justice here in Georgia.

We hope you will join us on this powerful day, for Anthony Hill, Nicholas Thomas, Kevin Davis, Kendrick Johnson, Kathryn Johnston, Ariston Waiters, and too many others, that we may honor their loss, and move forward together, so that they may #RestInPower
