Ms. Chisato SEINO is an avant-garde SENRYU-Poet, as well as a butoh dancer since 1980’s. SENRYU is a 250-years old form of traditional Japanese poetry which tends to be about human foibles, while haiku tend to be about nature. Senryū is often cynical or darkly humorous.

Katsura Kan is a Butoh dancer from Kyoto, Japan. Kan began his career as a butoh dancer with the seminal butoh group Byakkosha in 1979. He left Byakkosha in 1981 to organize a multinational Dance Company called "Katsura Kan & Saltimbanques". Kan organizes Academic Butoh Conferences all over the world for the next generation of Butoh.
Chisato is challenging the legacy of traditional SENRYU, by showing the Ontology of Flesh "here" and "now", in this moment.
Please enjoy her “Dish cuisine” from the MIMIHIME Kitchen of Japanese NEO traditional arts revived in vivid color as Butoh.

This intergenerational performance features dancers from all over the world (Japan, Mexico, Argentina, United Kingdom, and USA).
