Bakari Yoga says
As part of Monadnock Madness 2016 and to celebrate the first day of spring we are excited to be offering a special guided hike to the top of Davidson-Arabia Mountain for a sunrise yoga practice, followed by hot tea around the fire pit.
Get outside and satisfy your inner longing for connection to nature as you explore the beauty of Arabia Mountain. Connect with your breath and let the body to be cleansed by it. Connect with energy of the universe through the Sun, the wind, and the blue sky.
The seat of wisdom is the heart’s center not the head. Through the practices of yoga, meditation, breath work, and synchronizing your body and mind with nature, you grow more grounded and relaxed. The body revitalizes and the mind quiets, becoming more receptive. When you are in this relaxed state, compassion, intuition, and creativity flow more easily, and the heart blooms wide open.
Join us, as we lead you through easy yoga poses, breath work, and mindfulness under the wide open sky. Celebrate the first day of spring with us with a perfect combination of yoga, meditation, and time in nature. You will leave grounded, expansive, and with deeper connection to yourself and the world.

Tuition: $10 cash
(10% of total proceeds will be donated to Davidson-Arabia Mountain Nature Preserve)

Meet up: 6:15 am 3787 Klondike Road Lithonia, Ga. 30038

Event Details:
We will meet at 6:15 am at the Davidson-Arabia Nature Preserve. There will be plenty of parking. Once we have gathered we will set out for the mountain top at 6:30 am, guided by Ranger Robby. It will still be dark so please bring a small flashlight or head lamp for the hike. The hike itself will take us approximately 20 -25 minutes. Once we have reached the top we will roll out our mats and begin our sunrise practice beneath the wide open sky as the sun begins to rise above our heads and the tree tops.

Please plan accordingly as far as your attire, check with the local news or your weather apps and plan to have layers if needed and bring water. Once we have completed our practice we will once again be guided down the mountain back to the Nature Preserve where we will convene at the fire pit to sip hot tea and share the early morning light together before parting ways for the day. This is a rain or shine event, and in the unfortunate event of rain we have secured an indoor space for our practice. However, we are of course expecting a beautiful first day of spring!

Reminders: Bring your own yoga mat, flashlight, water, and dress accordingly for the weather that morning.
