The event creator says
Join us for an evening of dance, music, spoken word, and film at The Ceremony Session I: Spirit of the Drum, as we pay special honor to 4th generation master talking drummer Adebisi "Bisi" Adeleke from the town of Ia-Orangun, Oshun State in NIgeria. The Ceremony celebrates the talents cultivated in the Atlanta African Drum community and their continuing journeys.

Ayan Adebisi Adeleke is a fourth-generation master drummer in the lineage of Yoruba talking praise drums. Drawing from the artistic, cultural and spiritual influences that has marked his prolific career, The Ceremony: Spirit of the Drum will highlight the contributions of one of the foremost authorities of Yoruba music and culture in the Southeastern United States.

Curated by Kevin Sipp and Unneka Inyanga, The Ceremony is a musical gathering and percussion ensemble that combines rites of passage experiences and the best elements of poetry, cross cultural jazz, theater production, and sound. The Ceremony, held bi-monthly during the New Moon Cycle, will feature artists known for their transformative performances and multi-dimensional artistry.

The Ceremony Session I: Spirit of the Drum will be hosted by Odutola Orisagbemi Eegungbade (DJ Ausar) of WRFG 89.3FM. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. To purchase tickets:
