Saturday, November 7 · 1:00 pm — 5:00 pm with Jaya Dasi (Chelsea) Jackson

This 4-hour workshop is an introduction to a series of modules that integrate yoga, meditation and conscious dialogue. Grounded in the principle of ahimsa, or non-harming, both asana and dialogue are used to facilitate conversations and eventually practices that reduce harm within and across communities.

Guided by practices grounded in Restorative Justice and Restorative Yoga, this introductory workshop facilitates an open-hearted dialogue for those who have experienced or unknowingly caused harm through a lack of understanding. This workshop is for anyone who identifies as a member of a community who experiences marginalization (ie., racism, sexism, ageism, ableism), as well as for allies who want to support individuals and communities by strengthening social and cultural awareness through practices grounded in yoga.

This workshop is for educators, yoga instructors, social justice workers and any practitioner interested in deepening their practice and expanding the definition of yoga as it relates to balance and justice for all.

No prior yoga experience is necessary. There will be a gentle/restorative asana practice provided.
