Because Our Stories Matter" Intensive 12 Session Workshop

12 sessions in Feb and March culminating in 4 showcase performances "Because Our Stories Matter!" A Workshop Intensive This workshop series will guide the participants to trust in the validity of their own experiences and/or point of view and go to that raw place in a safe and supportive environment to create an authentic and unique theatrical piece (monologues are not encouraged!). Don't tell the audience how it felt, present it in a way that the audience feel what you felt. Based on methodology used in The Depression Chronicles, 30 Plays in 60 Minutes, L.A.W. Lewd Asian Women and most other Lucky Chaos productions, People of color and other underrepresented groups strongly encouraged to participate. Total of 12 sessions and 4 showcase performances. Cost is at a discounted $75 (!) for all 12 sessions and 4 showcase performances if you finish the series and perform, but if you don't finish or miss more than 2 sessions, then you are charged the regular price of $175. (This discount is made possible by grant from City of Austin Cultural Arts Division) When you sign up by clicking the TICKETS link above, you acknowledge that you are aware you may be charged $100 at the end of the program if you do not participate in the showcase and/or you miss more than 2 session. The workshop dates are twice weekly on Wednesdays and an additional REQUIRED FLEX DAY starting on 2/4 to 3/5 (7.30 to 9.30pm) , followed by 4 showcase performances at primetime 8pm on Fridays and Saturdays on 3/6, 3/7, 3/13 and 3/14. (The additional flex day will be decided per participants' schedule to work in smaller groups or one-on-one with facilitator on their piece)
