Fray Cafe 15: Sxs Wi Legendary Evening Of True Personal Storytelling Returns

Advertising

Time Out says

Before The Moth, Before Risk! Before Mortified, before Snap Judgement, there was Fray Cafe. Five minutes. One live microphone. Your stories. Every year since 2000, attendees of SXSWi and the citizens of Austin have gathered to tell true stories. This year, the legendary evening of true personal storytelling returns on a (hopefully) warm, spring Sunday night downtown. Anyone can attend. No SXSW badge required. You show up and listen to great stories. If you wish to tell a story, add your name to the sign up sheet. You can also sign up beforehand right here on the invite. The only ground rules: your story must be true, it must be about you, and it can’t be a plug for anything. We get to as many as we can before 10 PM. Past tales have included: Marriage proposals, admissions of guilt, crimes committed, faces fallen flat upon and great triumphs of will. The whole of human experience. If stories, storytelling, and human drama is your thing, join us. We want to hear your story. This year we've only got two hours. Time is tight. If you've got a story to tell, sign up here. We can't promise we'll get to everyone. But we can promise beauty and power in what you will hear. Note: This year's event will be hosted by longtime storyteller Jeff Rider.
