Last year as Finance Executive Chair I raised $545.00 For The Kids with YOUR help! This year, I am honored to serve again on Texas THON 2015 now as Internal Director! It is my goal to raise $1,500 and I know I can do it with your help and support! Every contribution matters! What is Texas THON? It is my passion. We are a philanthropic student organization at the University of Texas at Austin that raises funds and awareness for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas, right here in Austin. We are entering our 13th year! Led by 3 Management Directors (myself, Sara Saastamoinen, and Lauren Caton), 34 Executive Chairs and Executive Assistants, and having more than 70 members serving on Committees, Texas THON 2015 aims to: -have more than 800 students participate in our spring event where we stand (and dance) for 12 straight hours -break 6 figures and raise MORE THAN DOUBLE our groundbreaking record total last year of $52,132.86, all For The Kids! Where does our money come from? The supplies and materials required for our events are generously funded by corporate donors or UT student organizations appropriations as well as the $10 Miracle Maker registration fee. All of the money you or others personally donate goes directly to our fundraising goal and into the hands of Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas. Not a single cent is lost to middlemen! Where does it go? The money we raise goes to Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas through the national non-profit Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. CMNH helps make sure DCMC never has to turn a child away due to financial restrictions and also aids fund the necessary technology to help these kids. By The Numbers: -Last year, Texas THON raised over $52,000 without a matching donor, which was more than double the amount we had ever raised before. -Children's Miracle Network Hospitals nation-wide treat over 17 million patients each year. -CMNH is single largest children's non-profit in the world. -We're currently helping fund the MEG (magnetoencephalography) machine at DCMC, which will be the only machine of its kind in Texas and only 1 of 6 in the nation. -Dell Children's Medical Center has 250 beds and is the only free standing children's hospital in central Texas -There are over 250 universities in the Dance Marathon movement and raised over $14 Million last year I also promise I'm not just relying on y'all to make my fundraising goal! This year I'll be canning, attending profit shares, and working many other events to help me reach my goal. Later on I'll also be selling handmade items and Texas THON merchandise so you can get when you give! I hope you will consider supporting my participation in Texas THON 2015.
