The event creator says
How do we balance living in the present with working towards our future goals and dreams? And how do we react when these two are at odds with one another?

Come join us this Thursday for the finale of our three part series in learning to hold our seat, as we explore the dance of staying connected with ourselves while simultaneously considering our future path. Afterwards we'll use a vision board to find a coffeeshop with good food, drinks, and conversation.

Here's some more general info about our group:

Who: Anyone in Austin between 18 and 36 who is curious about or committed to meditation and community. We insist that you come as you are - with lots of meditation experience or none, wearing sweatpants or a three-piece-suit, talkative, quiet, optimistic, or grumpy.

What: The Young Meditators Group meets twice monthly to learn about and practice basic meditation techniques, to explore ways to apply mindfulness to our lives on and off the cushion, and to discuss our experience of the world with one another. We also go for an optional hangout after each meeting at a coffee shop or bar for snacks, drinks, and friendship.

When: First and Third Thursdays of each month from 7-8:30 p.m.

Where: Austin Shambhala Center, 1702 South Fifth Street, Austin, Texas 78704 (at the corner of S 5th at W. Milton)

Why: To get to know ourselves and one another!
