Mapping The Afro Imaginative: Black Queer Diaspora Studies And The Work Of The Imagination

Time Out says
The Black Queer Diaspora Collective at the University of Texas at Austin (UT) is hosting a two-day symposium on the theme of the Afro-Imaginative to be held on 5th & 6th March 2015. We are a group of students, faculty, and staff, who are deeply invested in work concerned with and important for the lives and artistry of same-sex desiring and gender non-conforming communities throughout the African Diaspora. And we intend for this gathering to be an opportunity to use the imagination as a bridge between avant-garde theoretical and political projects in Black Queer Studies and African Diaspora Studies.
