Migrant Politics: Reflections And Conversations Ft. Gayatri Spivak
Advertising
Time Out says
How do migrant politics in the United States shape lives at home? How do politics 'in the third world' shape migrant lives in the United States?
Luis Cárcamo Huechante’s reflections on contemporary Mapuche radio and media strategies, Third World Feminist and literary scholar Gayatri Spivak, author and editor Carlos Perez de Alejo, and Alejandro Cáceres of the Austin Immigrant Rights Coalition will start a dialogue to sharpen the edges of these questions, to think of the ways collective actions ‘here’ and ‘there’ trouble and complicate life ‘here’ and ‘there.’
Panelists will reflect on the impact of their recent projects, and the way this has helped them understand our current situations.
This event is free and open to the public, though donations are welcome!
