Parable: "Pittman Mc Gehee Returns With The Prodigal Son" says
Pittman McGehee will return to Parable on March 6th, this time to discuss the narrative of the Prodigal Son. Our thinker-in-residence on The Front Porch, Pittman– a Jungian Analyst and Episcopal Priest– has been a nationally acclaimed lecturer, storyteller, and poet for decades. If you’ve yet to witness Pittman’s piercing wit and singular turn-of-phrase at Parable, just know: he always delivers.

Get ready for an incredible musical program as well. We’ll welcome Wendy Colonna, a local singer songwriter whose latest album, Nectar (2013), picked up attention from both the Wall Street Journal and Huffington Post. Listen to Wendy’s tunes on her website, then come hear the real thing at Parable.

At Parable, we invite voices of all beliefs and cultures to engage in an intentional conversation. The gathering includes no top-down lecturing about theology or absolutes– only discourse, music, food, drink, and dialogue. At the end of the gathering, a radically open Communion service is offered to all, regardless of code or creed. All donations received at Parable directly benefit our musician that evening.

People coming to Parable include lapsed church goers, regular church goers, and those who don’t identify with church. Find us in the backroom at Scholz’s, order your food and brew from our barkeep, and enjoy our local musician’s meanderings as you take your seat at a table. Then, get ready to join the conversation.
