Pretty Ugly

Pretty ugly is a slap in the face joke implying a compliment gone sour while questioning the gender boundaries and roles that we fall into. The artist recognizes a difficulty in being on the "right side" of feminism and gender equality, along with the discomfort that arises when addressing such difficult and personal topics. This solo exhibition features mix media collage and installation. The goal is to a create a space inviting freedom from judgement in a playful melding of ideas empowering and exemplifying both pretty and ugly things alike.
