You are invited to join AustinMusicPeople and the The Austin Forum on Technology & Society for this free event exploring the growing intersection between music and technology, and how music is keeping up with tech - and vice versa. Speakers include Mellie Price (SoftMatch); Colin Kendrick and Matt Ott (Black Fret); Chad Swiatecki (Austin Business Journal) and Jennifer Houlihan (Austin Music People).

Today's music industry has as much to do with technology as it does licks and riffs: entire albums are recorded on iPads, outrageous light shows are run with just the touch of a button, and wearable tech means you can leave your wallet at home when you go to a festival. MTV doesn't show many music videos anymore - the next great new band may well be discovered on YouTube or Google+. Is Austin's tech explosion the secret weapon that will help our city keep the title as Live Music Capital of the World as it grows? And what does that title mean in 2015?
