Time Out says
Whether your dream is to follow in the footsteps of Hollywood Heavyweight Steven Spielberg or local indie favorite Richard Linklater, your first step is to tell a great story. And what better way to begin than learning how to operate a high end, professional camera?
In this course you’ll become skilled at how to translate your thoughts to a storyboard - similar to the frames of a comic book. You’ll practice how different kinds of shots and diverse compositions express varied messages and most importantly, you’ll learn how technology can be converted into your creative vision.
From the fundamentals of camera operation and tapeless workflow to the aesthetics of basic field lighting and audio this course teaches you the skills you need to capture and reflect how you see your world.
This intensive 11-hour hands-on course taught by multiple instructors takes place over 2 weeks -- with 2 evening classes in the first week and 3 evening classes in the second week.
The first week features:
Pre-Production, 2 hours
Camera, 2.5 hours
The second week features:
Audio, 2 hours
Lighting, 2.5 hours
Lab, 2 hours
Completion of this course gives mediaArtists access to Sony NXCAM and HDZ5 cameras, all field audio & lighting equipment, and accompanying accessories, free of charge.
